Meet Peter Mikhail, MD, FACS
Dr. Mikhail earned his medical degree from McGill University in Montréal, Quebec, Canada, and completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Toronto. He then pursued advanced training in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Florida, completing his fellowship in 2007.
Dr. Mikhail is a recognized expert in the treatment of hyperhidrosis, with a special focus on Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy (ETS), a minimally invasive procedure designed to provide lasting relief for patients suffering from excessive sweating. He is dedicated to improving his patients’ quality of life by offering advanced, effective, and minimally invasive solutions.
In addition to hyperhidrosis treatment, Dr. Mikhail has extensive expertise in minimally invasive Thoracic, Cardiac, and Vascular Surgery. His comprehensive skill set includes robotic and minimally invasive lung and mediastinal surgeries, as well as innovative cardiac and vascular procedures such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and endovascular aortic repair.
Dr. Mikhail is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.
An accomplished author, Dr. Mikhail has published numerous articles on thoracic and cardiovascular procedures in leading medical journals. His passion for improving patient outcomes, particularly for those with hyperhidrosis, drives his commitment to excellence in care and innovation.
